With Apple previously making the switch to USB-C on the iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K, and now the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro this year, the company looks like it will be updating some of its Mac accessories to it as well.
A rumored brought up by Weibo user “Instant Digital” states that Apple is looking at bringing USB-C support to the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad next year.
It is unknown if there will be any prominent design changes, if any changes at all, to these Mac accessories other than adding USB-C to them.
One aspect of the design of the Apple Magic Mouse that has been heavily criticized is the fact that the Lightning port is on the bottom of the mouse, making it so people are unable to use it while it is charging. Granted, the charge for the Magic Mouse is said to be quick and that the battery on it lasts for about a month.
Other accessories Apple has added USB-C to over the last year have been the Siri Remote on the Apple TV 4K, and this year, the new Apple Pencil 3.
As for when we could see these new Mac accessories be available to the public? It could be between March-May 2024, but Apple could also halt them and wait to unveil and release them at WWDC 2024.
