Apple released Xcode 15.2, which officially added support for developing visionOS apps. It didn’t take long for developers to analyze the files that revealed further details related to the device.

As you may recall, Vision Pro is powered by both the M2 chip and R1 chip. Based on those files, Vision Pro is equipped with 16GB of unified memory. Considering the M2-based iPad Pro, Mac mini, and MacBook Air start with 8GB of unified memory, this will be great news for users as they’ll be able to run several visionOS apps at a more optimized performance. Apple’s press release states that Vision Pro will start at 256GB storage. Although we don’t have further details on the additional storage tiers this device will offer based on the press release, there were reports that some Vision Pro developer kits were equipped with 1TB of storage. Therefore, it’s possible that Vision Pro can offer up to 1TB of storage.

If you want to develop apps for Vision Pro, a Mac with Apple Silicon is required along with Xcode 15.2 as mentioned before. Vision Pro will start at $3,499 with 256GB of storage. Preorders for Vision Pro will begin on Friday, January 19 at 5 am PST, and it will be available starting Friday, February 2.
