It has now been reported by 9to5Mac that iPadOS 17.4 could make the new Apple Pencil better by adding Find My support to an unannounced third generation model.

By giving that accessory support for Find My, it will make it easier for users to find it if they have misplaced it. However, it is unknown if Apple will be using Ultra Wideband tech that will have more accurate whereabouts on where the Apple Pencil is, or whether it will just show the last place the Apple Pencil was located.

Apple did recently release iPadOS 17.4 and iOS 17.4 betas and it has been discovered that iPadOS 17.4’s beta does have support for the PencilKit API.

PencilKit API enables developers to add Apple Pencil support to their apps.
