If you bought a Vision Pro, we hope you’ll enjoy using it. However, once you set up both a passcode and Optic ID, please make sure to remember your passcode because if you ever forget that passcode, you’ll certainly be in a very difficult situation.
Unlike other Apple products, there’s no easier way to directly reset your Vision Pro if you ever forget your passcode. Instead, you’ll have to take it to a local Apple Store to have them reset it, or worst case, you’ll have to ship the unit to Apple if you don’t have an Apple Store nearby.
When setting up a passcode on Vision Pro, it will set to a six-digit passcode by default just like on iPhone and iPad. However, you may choose either an alphanumeric or a simpler four-digit passcode. If you also set up Optic ID, then a passcode will be required to enable Optic ID from time to time under certain conditions such as after a restart. Vision Pro works the same way as iPhones and iPads when the users enter several failed passcode attempts before the unit disables itself for a longer period of time before a passcode can be entered again. As removing the passcode requires erasing all content and settings on Vision Pro, the only way to perform that action is through the Settings app, which cannot be bypassed unless you enter the correct passcode.
So if you own a Vision Pro, this is something to keep in mind if you’re going to use the unit for some time. Therefore, make sure to always remember your Vision Code passcode no matter what.
