We’re still expecting Apple to announce the new iPad Pro models within this month, and one of the biggest features that the upcoming models will bring is the adoption of OLED displays for the first time on an iPad.
We’ve seen OLED displays on both the Apple Watch and the current iPhone lineup, and those displays offer more vivid colors, higher brightness levels, and significantly improved contrast ratios. The next iPad Pros will likely feature a two-stack tandem OLED structure that can offer the same brightness levels yet improvements in both efficiency and overall lifespan.
A recent report from research firm Oldie (The Elec) claims that the next generations of iPad Air and iPad mini will move to OLED displays sometime in 2026. The firm also suggests that Apple could launch an OLED foldable with a display that’s about the same size as that of the current iPad mini though the launch timeframe remains in the air.
For new models that will be launched as soon as this month, the iPad Air will retain the standard LCD technology, but this time in two sizes – 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch. The iPad Pro will offer OLED displays in both 11-inch and 13-inch. You can read further on what to expect from both the iPad Air and iPad Pro.Â
