We’re less than six months until we expect Apple to unveil the iPhone 16 lineup. Now, Sonny Dickson posted an image of an iPhone 16 case that features a different camera arrangement.

If we take a look at the current iPhone 15 Pro, the main and ultra-wide cameras are arranged vertically. This arrangement is necessary for recording spatial videos that are viewable on Apple Vision Pro. Currently, both cameras are arranged diagonally on the standard iPhone 15 models, so those models aren’t capable of recording spatial videos. If Apple is going to add spatial video recording on the iPhone 16, it would need to bring back the vertical camera arrangement for the ultra-wide and main camera.

This wouldn’t be the first time we have seen a vertical camera arrangement as such arrangement was first introduced on the iPhone X. If we look closely at the cases shown in the image, we can see the cutouts for both the cameras and microphone or LED flash.

Other features we can expect for both the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are the Action Button from the iPhone 15 Pro as well as the Capture button for photography/videography capabilities.

Both the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro are expected to be announced this September at an Apple Event.
