This week, a new live TV streaming service was announced as a joint venture between Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), Disney, and FOX Sports called “Venu Sports.”
What the live TV streaming service is designed for is, well, for sports fans. Over the years, they have had to purchase other streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, FuboTV, or Sling TV.
What that means in a lot of cases is that those fans have to pay for those streaming services often have to pay for channels they do not like or want. They just want the services for sports and watching said live sporting events.
Venu Sports is coming to fix this issue.
With it, fans would get access to sporting events on the following channels:
- ESPN
- ESPN 2
- ESPN U
- ESPNEWS
- ESPN+
- ACC Network (ACCN)
- SEC Network (SECN)
- ABC
- FOX
- FS1
- FS2
- BTN
- TBS
- TNT
- truTV
As for when Venu will launch?
That has been rumored to be either later this summer or early this fall. Reports indicate that the planned launch time is before the upcoming college football season.
The official monthly price of the service has not been announced either, but rumors say it will cost somewhere between $40-50 a month. There could be some early on promotional pricing to get consumers subscribed to the new service.
How will this impact iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV users?
It will be another choice of streaming service for them to choose from when it comes to streaming live sports. Yes, it can seem like we have a lot of choices out there, but Venu could be a major solution for many sports fans out there.
