Apple TV 2nd and 3rd Generation to lose support for Netflix app next month

It has been a long time coming but older Apple TV models will soon begin losing support for the Netflix app starting next month.

Netflix recently sent out emails to customers, letting them know about this news and changes coming to the streaming service.

The company has said after Wednesday, July 31, 2024, that the second and third generation Apple TV streaming devices will no longer have access or support to the Netflix app.

This has been confirmed on its Help Center page that does mention the coming end of support for the older Apple TV models.

What users can do after the July 31 date is either upgrade their Apple TV to one such as the Apple TV HD or any Apple TV 4K model (essentially, Apple TVs with tvOS), or use a device like a Roku, Amazon Fire TV, or smart TV.
