Opinion: One year later with my Magic Keyboard

Avatar for David Becker

This time last year, I had a previous wired Apple keyboard that broke while I was working. It happens and it was older and those things they need to be replaced after a while of usage.

From there, I went to Best Buy after work that evening and bought a the Apple Bluetooth Magic Keyboard and hooked it up to my work computer that evening.

Here is how looks from when I first got it (top photo) and after a year of usage (bottom photo).

Throughout the course of the past year, it has been a great keyboard because I like how the keys on the keyboard seem to be bigger than the previous version for the keyboard I was using. I have long fingers, so this helps.

The spacing between the keys is decent even though I do have typing problems sometimes, but that might be a me problem and not so much a Magic Keyboard issue.

When it comes to the design, I do like that it is minimalistic it is. It screams Apple’s simplistic design too and definitely a nice keyboard to have in your typical Corporate America office. It just feels good to use and makes work better since I do have to use a Windows 11 computer. As always, I’ve got to add a little bit of Mac to my daily work life when an actual Mac is not available to me.

I have had opportunities to use Dell and HP desktop computer keyboards and there is no option for me. It’s either the Magic Keyboard or nothing at all. Good thing it’s always at my desk!

Needless to say, I love the Apple Magic Keyboard and have no plans on changing it.
