With the new designs of the body of the iPad over the years, not to mention that it has been improved exponentially with internal processor and software upgrades to make it to the point where the iPad can be seen as a multi-use device, and a great one at that.
With that said, the folks over at Australia-based KUXIU have a stand called the X33 Pro MAX iPad Magnetic Charging Stand that can essentially turn your iPad almost into an iMac.
The stand normally retails for $119 but is currently on sale for $89.98. It is compatible with the iPad Air fourth, fifth, and sixth generations, all versions of the 11-inch iPad Pro, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro third, fourth, fifth, and sixth generations, along with the new M4 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pros.
When it comes to the design of this, let’s just say I love the build quality of this stand. I mean, this is a solid metal stand. It does have a little bit of heft to it but that’s not necessarily a bad thing because of its great build quality.
On top of that, I do like how slim it is.
But what makes its slim form factor nice is that the stand does not tilt or lean towards one direction or the other. It is balanced and I have no issues using it, whether it is for typing articles and reviews like this or having next to my bedside and watching TV shows and movies on it as I fall asleep at night.
To make it even more interesting, the wheel that enables users to adjust the stand looks very similar to the circle that you would see on the power button of previous versions of the Apple Magic Keyboard. Whether it was intentional or not, I do like that design choice because, from one Apple fan to another, it just screams Apple.
The stand does have magnets on it where you set your iPad so it sticks to the stand. Like with the lack of tilting on the stand, these magnets keep the iPad tightly on the stand. There is no fear of it falling off or coming detached from the stand.
Also, it can be turned to either 360-degree or 90-degree angles to satisfy users who need either or both of those views.
Another aspect of the stand that I like is that it has a port for charging and was not solely reliant on the charging port on the side of the iPad (when at a 360-degree angle). This gives users a somewhat wireless display when charging.
It can also be propped lower for those using an accessory like the Apple Pencil to draw and create art with.
If anything, it screams luxurious because I have not personally seen a lot of these types of devices either at work or out in public. However, if I were to see this stand or a stand like it out in the public, there is no doubt the person using it is getting some work done.
This brings me to my next point which is that the stand could be seen as a productivity device or accessory. Some people do not like the Magic Keyboard case for the iPad, so this stand here makes an excellent alternative. Of course, it is also good to make sure to have a Bluetooth and wireless mouse to go alongside with it. Obviously we here would recommend the desktop Apple Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse for those purposes.
With that said, the stand is portable and can fit into most laptop bags and backpacks, making it great for travelers.
Overall, the KUXIU X33 Pro MAX iPad Magnetic Charging Stand gets 4/4 stars from me. It is a stand that does exactly what it should do when it comes to holding up and displaying your iPad, along with providing the necessary comfort with the stand’s build quality, as well as looking like a product that Apple would create and design”¦but didn’t.
