Apple announced its brand new products to the iPhone lineup at its ‘Glowtime’ event today ”“ iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, taking technology to the next level. Ahead of pre-orders beginning this Friday, September 13, Apple has released the third beta of iOS 18.1 for all iPhone 16 models.

The highlighting feature of the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro series is Apple Intelligence, which will be available with iOS 18.1 set to be released publically in the month of October. Since the beta is out, users upgrading to the iPhone 16 series can enjoy the currently available features of Apple Intelligence including a new Focus mode called Reduce Interruptions, Notification Summary, Writing Tools, and more.

An interesting difference between iOS 18.1 beta 3 for iPhone 16 and for iPhone 15 Pro is the build number, being 22B5034o and 2B5034e respectively. Beta 3 has been around for the iPhone 15 Pro for more than two weeks, so it should have jumped up to beta 4, but here we are.

This is a good move by Apple, considering the first round of orders will ship to customers by September 20, and even earlier for the media if not facilitated yet. If you are running iOS 18.1 Beta on your iPhone 15 Pro and do not wish to lose your data, you’d have to update your new iPhone 16 to iOS 18.1 beta before restoring a backup from your iPhone 15 Pro. With that said, iOS 18.1 beta is currently not available for any other device other than the iPhone 15 Pro or the iPhone 16 series.

Speaking of updates, Apple will be releasing iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, and macOS 15 Sequoia on Monday, September 16 worldwide for all supported devices. The iPhone 16 series is a significant step forward in terms of mobile technology and Apple will continue to improve its iPhone lineup every year. Are you excited to use Apple Intelligence?
