Apple TV 4K users can stream these four college football games in 4K on September 21

Another weekend of college football is upon us and with that means more opportunities to stream these games live.

However, with the inventions of things like the 4K TV and Apple TV 4K, there are a small number of games that are going to be available to stream in 4K this Saturday too.

Those games are the following:

  • Marshall vs. Ohio State – 12 p.m. ET on FOX
  • Miami (Ohio) vs. Notre Dame – 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC
  • Utah vs. Oklahoma State – 4 p.m. ET on FOX
  • Tennessee vs. Oklahoma – 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN

When it comes to actually streaming those games live, fans will have to be subscribed to a live TV streaming service such as YouTube TV, FuboTV, DirecTV Stream, or Sling TV (Sling Blue or Sling Orange + Blue plans only, FOX only available in select TV markets on Sling TV) which all will have a FOX 4K channel. Those that have YouTube TV will also need to have the 4K Plus add-on for an additional $9.99 a month.

Another way to stream the FOX Sports games in 4K, when available, whether it is on FOX or FS1, is through the FOX Sports app. Those that use that route will have to sign in with valid TV provider credentials in order to stream the games live and in 4K from that app.

As for how to stream the Notre Dame game in 4K on the Apple TV 4K, the user would have to have and be subscribed to YouTube TV or DirecTV Stream that will be providing the necessary NBC channels to stream the game live in 4K.

Please note that Peacock, which will also have the live broadcast of the game, will not have a 4K feed.

For streaming the ESPN game in 4K, that is said to be through 4K ESPN channels provided by YouTube TV, Sling TV, and other live TV streaming services.

FOX, NBC, and ESPN broadcast games in 4K are reported to be “upscaled” from 1080p.
