Apple set to launch its smart glasses next year

Do you remember those concepts of smart glasses from the previous decade, particularly Google Glass? Well, you may have remembered that Google’s project pretty much crashed and burned as it really didn’t take off so well. However, a revived market of smart glasses has recently spawned, particularly with Meta Ray-Bans and even the Android XR glasses that Google showcased earlier this week.

Apple has had the Vision Pro for over a year now as its wearable headset, but according to Bloomberg, it looks like Apple is aiming to enter into that market as soon as next year. To compete with other companies, Apple’s smart glasses are expected to feature several cues from the Vision Pro such as cameras, microphone, and AI capabilities with several tasks you’d do on a smartphone. As with other competitors that use their own AI solutions for their glasses, Apple is expected to feature Siri on its smart glasses. Yes, we all know that Apple Intelligence has been quite a huge miss for Apple, but recent news have indicated that Apple is finally making Siri a lot more smart since its earliest days.

Bloomberg says that development towards Apple’s glasses has ramped up, and the company plans to have “large quantities” of prototypes ready for internal employees by the end of this year for developer testing. If all things go well, we may see mass production along with a mass unveiling sometime next year. The product’s name hasn’t been determined, but I’m willing to bet that it would be under the Apple’s Vision product category.
