Apple is now expanding Sleep Apnea detection for Apple Watch to more countries, according to a new post on X (formerly Twitter) by CEO Tim Cook.

According to a health document by Apple, “Sleep apnea is a common and treatable disorder that negatively impacts people’s health and quality of life. Despite advances in public awareness about the importance of sleep, most cases of sleep apnea remain undiagnosed. Apple Watch can track Breathing Disturbances during sleep and provide notifications of possible sleep apnea if Breathing Disturbances values reach a level associated with moderate to severe sleep apnea.”

Unfortunately, this feature isn’t available globally, but are gradually rolling out in most countries. Support for Sleep Apnea detection has expanded to the following countries:

  • Argentina
  • Australia
  • Christmas Island
  • Cocos (Keeling) Islands
  • Ecuador
  • Heard and McDonald Islands
  • Honduras
  • Indonesia
  • Moldova
  • Norfolk Island
  • Serbia
  • Taiwan
  • Thailand
  • Ukraine
  • Vietnam

Apple has shared a complete list of countries which support Sleep Apnea detection.

This feature is only available for the Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Ultra 2, and the watch needs to be worn while sleeping for several days for it to analyse and detect Sleep Apnea.
