Apple has started rolling out macOS Sequoia 15.6 to the public with bug fixes and security updates for supported Macs. This is one of the last versions of macOS Sequoia, before the launch of macOS Tahoe 26 in September. Of course, as usual, Apple will still continue releasing security updates to macOS Sequoia for older devices, but there will be no new changes or features.
This update comes more than two and a half months after the release of macOS Sequoia 15.5 which also debuted with bug fixes and security improvements. Apple keeps refining the software experience with every 15.x. update whilst also fixing issues.
According to Apple, “This update provides important bug fixes and security updates and is recommended for all users. For information on the security content of Apple software updates, please visit: https://support.apple.com/100100”
Upcoming updates to macOS 15 Sequoia is now expected to only include refinements and security patches as Apple gears up for macOS Tahoe 26. macOS Sequoia 15.6 includes fixes to whopping 81 security flaws, according to Apple – which implies that this updates is extremely important.
macOS Sequoia 15.6 is available for:
- MacBook Air (2020 and later)
- MacBook Pro (2018 and later)
- iMac (2019 and later)
- iMac Pro (2017)
- Mac mini (2018 and later)
- Mac Studio (2022 and later)
- Mac Pro (2019 and later)
If you have an older Mac or running an older version of macOS, Apple has also released macOS Sonoma 14.7.7 and macOS Ventura 13.7.7.
