Amazon has had a great deal on the M4 MacBook Air starting at just $799. That’s $200 off the MSRP of $999. Now, Amazon also has a huge steal on another MacBook, and that’s the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the base M4 chip. Usually, it starts at $1,599 (MSRP), but for $300 off, that’s the biggest discount we’ve seen for the latest MacBook Pro.

Now, since the 13-inch/15-inch MacBook Air and the base 14-inch MacBook Pro pretty much share the same base M4 chip, you won’t see a major performance boost when springing for the base 14-inch Pro; however, you’d get several premium features that further enhance the Mac experience. This includes:

  • additional I/O: HDMI, one more Thunderbolt 4 port, and SDXC card
  • one internal fan for active-cooling, especially for sustained workloads
  • Liquid Retina XDR display (aka mini-LED display) for improved brightness and contrast ratios, which will make a huge difference especially when viewing HDR content

Here are all the standard configurations that are on sale on Amazon:

  • 16GB memory / 512GB SSD ($1,299)
  • 16GB memory / 1TB SSD ($1,499)
  • 24GB memory / 1TB SSD ($1,699)

You can’t go wrong with getting the base 14-inch MacBook Pro if you want a premium MacBook experience, but you still can’t beat the value with the M4 MacBook Air, especially when it’s on sale now on Amazon.
