iPhone Wallet: Driver’s License feature now makes it way to North Dakota citizens

With the Wallet app on your iPhone, there’s less need for you to carry your physical wallet to store cash, credit cards, and some form of ID, so your iPhone may be replacing your wallet really soon if you live in North Dakota. That’s right; the Driver’s License feature now makes it way to North Dakota, and this state joins several states where you can use the Driver’s License feature to conveniently show your ID at places such as airports’ TSA checkpoints and other age-restricted places such as nightclubs.

Currently, the states that have supported this feature are the following:

  • Arizona
  • Maryland
  • Colorado
  • Georgia
  • Ohio
  • Hawaii
  • California
  • Iowa
  • New Mexico
  • Montana

…with many more states to be added:

  • West Virginia
  • Connecticut
  • Kentucky
  • Mississippi
  • Oklahoma
  • Utah
  • Illinois

To set up a driver’s license on the Wallet app, these are the minimum requirements:

  • iPhone 8 or later: iOS 16.5 or later
  • Apple Watch Series 4 or later: watchOS 9.5 or later

With the Wallet app, the iPhone becomes more of the only thing that you’ll need to take with you as it’s the ultimate everyday tool. Your iPhone can make your payments through Apple Pay, and it can even unlock your car, your hotel room, and even your home.
