Apple’s fall rollout may not be finished yet. In the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple is preparing a quieter, online-focused release this week that could introduce the first shipping devices with its new M5 silicon: an upgraded iPad Pro, a refreshed Vision Pro and what looks like a base-level 14-inch MacBook Pro.
According to Gurman, the three devices most likely to appear this week are:
-
M5 iPad Pro — a chip upgrade for Apple’s pro tablet that’s already in mass production. Expect a faster CPU/GPU but not a wholesale redesign.
-
Updated Vision Pro — a spec bump that includes a faster chip and an improved head strap (most probably a Dual Knit Band for improved comfort).
-
Base 14-inch MacBook Pro (M5) — Gurman says the entry-level MacBook Pro can ship now because the standard M5 is ready, while the higher-end M5 Pro and M5 Max variants won’t be released until early 2026.
Apple still has more devices coming across late 2025 and into early 2026: a new AirTag, updated HomePod mini, an Apple TV set-top refresh, refreshed iPad Air and entry-level iPad models, external monitors, new MacBook Air models with M5, and an iPhone 17e — many of which are targeted for early-next-year windows.
If Apple follows the plan Gurman describes, this week could mark the commercial debut of M5 silicon — first in iPad Pro and Vision Pro refreshes and in the base 14-inch MacBook Pro — with higher-end M5 Pro/Max MacBook Pro models arriving in volume early next year.
