Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, posted a brief video on X, which teases the upcoming MacBook Pro. Apple did similar teasers on X before for other products that debuted earlier this year via a press release. Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, teased “the newest member of the family” ahead of the iPhone 16e’s introduction, and he also teased “there’s something in the air” for the M4 MacBook Air’s debut.
If we take a look at the latest teaser above, you’ll see several clues that allude to the upcoming product:
- “Mmmmm” in Joswiak’s post implies that we may see the debut of the M5 chip since there are 5 M’s in that post.
- The (subtle) side profile of the MacBook Pro is in a V-shaped form, and if you know your Roman numerals, ‘V’ represents ‘5’
- What may be a wildcard guess, you’ll see the San Francisco font and Apple logo in a sky blue color, which indicates that we may see the M5 MacBook Pro in a Sky Blue finish as well, similar to the M4 MacBook Air and iPhone Air.
As you may know, we’ve been seeing dwindling supplies of the M4 MacBook Pro, M4 iPad Pro, and more recently, both the HomePod mini and Apple TV. So all of those products, as well as the Vision Pro, may see a hardware refresh as early as later this week. For the MacBook Pro, specifically, we’ll just see models with the base M5 chip, so the M5 Pro/Max variants will come later next year, possibly with new silicon features that we’ve never seen before. If Apple announces those products via press releases, those announcements will likely go live either at 6 a.m. or 8 a.m. Pacific Time. It could be the latter if Apple drops mini product announcement videos like it did with the iPhone 16e and M4 Mac models introduced in October.
We’ll keep you posted once Apple drops several new products. Follow us on X for more content from us.
