iOS 26.2 Beta 1 includes new Liquid Glass Slider for Lock Screen Clock and Alarms for Reminders

iOS 26 Lock Screen

Apple has started rolling out the first betas of iOS 26.2 to developers, just one day after the release of iOS 26.1 to the public, where Apple added the ability to change the look of ‘Liquid Glass’  in iOS/iPadOS/macOS 26.1 with two new options. The first option is Clear, which is the current default look, and Tinted, which increases opacity and contrast. These options are available under Display and Brightness Settings on iPhone/iPad and Appearance Settings on Mac.

iOS 26.2 Beta 1, once again, features new changes to Liquid Glass, which was introduced this year. Apple has added a slider to adjust the intensity of Liquid Glass for the clock on the Lock Screen. Here’s how it looks:

This might be a stepping stone to implement this system-wide, as several have requested. Ever since Apple rolled out the new Liquid Glass design to the public in September and beta testers in June, there have been varying opinions about the design itself and text readability, and such an option would satisfy most users.

Another notable addition is the ability to set Alarms for Reminders through the Reminders app itself. For this to work, one would need to classify it as Urgent in the app. As the alarm rings for your set urgent reminder, there are two options, as has always been for regular alarms: Snooze and Stop.

Users who are registered as a developer on www.developer.apple.com can opt in to receive beta updates by going into Settings>General>Software Update>Beta Updates and selecting Developer Beta. Do note that these versions are not stable and are meant for testing purposes.
