If you’ve ever tried to slip an Apple AirTag into your wallet, you know the problem: it’s just too bulky. The experts at Nomad have a new solution that slides in like a credit card, works directly with Apple’s Find My app, and solves the biggest annoyance of all: battery life.

Nomad just announced its new Tracking Card Pro, and it’s a compelling upgrade for anyone who wants to keep tabs on their wallet without the bulge. It’s designed from the ground up to live inside your wallet, and its killer feature is a rechargeable battery that lasts an incredible 16 months on a single charge.

At 2.5mm, it’s about the thickness of three standard credit cards. While this is slightly thicker than Nomad’s previous tracking card, it’s still significantly thinner than the bulky, circular AirTag. That extra thickness was put to good use, housing the massive battery and the hardware for wireless charging.

Like an AirTag, the Tracking Card Pro pairs directly with Apple’s Find My app on your iPhone. You add it under the “Items” tab and get all the core functionality of the Find My network. You can see your wallet’s last known location on a map, get separation alerts if you leave it behind, and play a sound to locate it when it’s nearby.

To achieve this slim, rechargeable design, there is one key trade-off compared to an Apple AirTag: the Tracking Card Pro does not include an Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip. This means you don’t get the “Precision Finding” feature—the on-screen arrow that guides you to its exact location.

Instead, you’ll rely on the card’s audible chime and the map in the Find My app to track it down, just like most other third-party Find My accessories. For most people, this is a small price to pay for a device that’s rechargeable and actually fits in a wallet.

The Nomad Tracking Card Pro is available for pre-order now for $39 from Nomad’s website, with shipping expected to begin by December 19. It is also offering a 10% discount when you purchase two of them.

What do you think? Is the 16-month battery and slim design worth giving up Precision Finding? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! Stay updated with the latest news on this by downloading the Appleosophy App from the App Store or by visiting our website.
