Apple rolled out its Fitness+ subscription in 27 regions on December 15 as a part of its recent expansion, and stated that the service will be available in Japan “early next year”. However, it seems that Apple Fitness+ has finally made its debut in Japan earlier than expected, as noted by MacOtakara.
According to Apple’s Newsroom announcement in Japan, Apple Fitness+ will be included in an Anytime Fitness membership. Moreover, Benefit Station members, ‘au’ and ‘UQ’ mobile customers will be able to avail three months of Fitness+ for free.
Earlier, Apple stated, “To help make Fitness+ even more welcoming to users around the world, the service is introducing digitally dubbed versions of workouts and meditations in Spanish and German, with Japanese dubbing to follow early next year alongside the availability of the service in Japan. The dubbed workouts and meditations feature a generated voice based on the actual voice of each of the 28 Fitness+ trainers.
This feature is now also available in Japan with the launch and requires devices running iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, and tvOS 26.1 or later.
As a part of the debut, Apple has released an episode of “Time to Walk,” featuring comedian and actor Naomi Watanabe.
In terms of pricing, Fitness+ will cost ¥980 per month or ¥7,800 per year, and customers can get three months for free if they purchase a new iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, AirPods Pro 3, or Powerbeats Pro 2.
