Apple has started rolling out watchOS 11.6.2 to the public with bug fixes. This update is aimed towards users who have opted out of updating to watchOS 26.
According to the Release Notes for watchOS 11.6.2: “This update provides important bug fixes and is recommended for all users.”
As noted by MacRumors, watchOS 11.6.2 “addresses a cellular network issue for Series 6, Series 7, Series 8, Series 9, Series 10, SE 2, Ultra, and Ultra 2 when establishing a connection to emergency services in Australia.”
An update to older iPhone models, such as the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X, was released earlier this week, fixing a similar issue.
If you have already installed watchOS 26 on your device, you will NOT see this update. If you have chosen to stay on an older version and not upgrade to version 26, you will still be able to install timely updates like these.
It does not seem like this update contains any security fixes, as Apple has not revealed any.
It is highly recommended to update your Apple Watch to the latest software for the best experience and security. Did you find any features in this update?
