Along with Apple’s announcement regarding Tim Cook stepping down as Apple CEO, Apple also announced that Johny Srouji, the Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies, is being promoted to the role of Chief Hardware Officer. This department was under John Ternus’s leadership. Johny Srouji is a core part of Apple’s hardware engineering team and led projects such as the development of Apple Silicon, which has been a major success.
In 2008, a year after the introduction of the first iPhone, Johny Srouji joined the company to lead the development of Apple’s first SoC, the A4, which was used to power the iPhone 4 as well as the first iPad. His more recent accomplishments include the fast-paced development of Apple Silicon, especially when Apple switched from Intel to its M-series chips on Macs.
