During WWDC26, Apple announced tvOS 27 will not include support for Apple TV HD from 2015 and the Apple TV 4K (1st generation) from 2017. The update will be compatible with the Apple TV 4K (2nd generation) and newer, according to the company.
tvOS 27 brings a redesigned Podcasts app, smoother app launch animations, faster AirPlay connectivity with Apple devices, and more. Apple did not showcase any new features related to tvOS 27 at the WWDC26 Keynote and we are still exploring the beta to see what is new.
The first beta of tvOS 27 is now available to developers, and the public beta will be available for free in July.
