We’re about two months away from when Apple will introduce the next-generation iPhone 18 Pro, and “Digital Chat Station” on Weibo now reports on the alleged battery capacities across both of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models as revealed by the filings in China’s C3 database; this includes both variants in China and in the United States.

Based on those findings, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to be rated for 4,056mAh in China and 4,288mAh in the U.S. It would be modest jump from the iPhone 17 Pro’s respective battery capacities; however, the biggest capacity gains will be found in the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max as it’s allegedly rated for 5,391mAh in China and for 5,567mAh in the U.S. This would be a more substantial increase of about 500mAh on average when comparing against the current iPhone 17 Pro Max counterparts, rated at 4,823mAh in China and at 5,088mAh in the U.S.

The reason for the discrepancies between the China and U.S. models lies in SIM technology. To bring you up to speed, iPhone 14 and later models in the U.S. eliminated the physical SIM tray, relying on eSIM instead, which would allow Apple to fit in a bigger battery. On the other hand, current iPhone models (except the iPhone Air) in China still have a physical SIM slot.

With that said, we could potentially see even substantial battery improvements combined with the improved efficiency of the rumored A20 Pro chip on those iPhone 18 Pro models, especially with the larger Max model, as it could feature the longest battery life we’ve ever seen on an iPhone, probably next to the rumored foldable “iPhone Ultra”.

The iPhone 18 Pro models and the “iPhone Ultra” are expected to be introduced in September.
