A partnership between Apple and Ford has been announced to integrate Apple Maps into Ford’s Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) platform, which is debuting in 2027. This integration will be powered by the ‘MapKit for Automotive SDK’ by Apple.
With this integration, Ford drivers will benefit from the following features:
- Turn-by-Turn directions
- Real-time traffic updates
- Incident updates
- Detailed Place Cards
- Intelligent EV Routing functionality and Battery preconditioning.
This partnership will also enable Ford to access road-level information from Apple Maps to develop Latitude AI, including the next-generation BlueCruise hands-free highway driving capability.
