A couple of months ago, sources reported that the Apple Park Visitor Center would undergo renovations, and as of today, that site has completed renovations, but it has officially retired one tourist exhibit that many Apple enthusiasts/visitors were fond of: the 3D augmented reality replica of the Apple Park campus. In place of that space, there are now wall-mounted shelves, commonly referred to as “Avenues”, and rounded tables with demo products. These features could also be found in many of Apple’s “flagship” stores such as Apple Williamsburg.
This 3D AR exhibit has been part of the Apple Park Visitor Center ever since it opened (until now), and I even got to visit there in person just over two years ago. It was a remarkable experience getting to hold one of the iPads the exhibit provided, so you could not only view the entire campus through the app, but you could also tap through each section of the campus to learn more about its innovative features. All in all, it’s just so sad to see this iconic exhibition go, as that was what made the Visitor Center really stand out from any local Apple Stores around the world. In fact, the Visitor Center has been the only place in the entire Apple Park Campus that’s open to the public.
The Visitor Center doesn’t just provide a tourist experience, but also serves as a memorable shopping experience because when you visit there, there is a high chance you’d get some sort of souvenir as a memento of your visit. You’d be glad to hear that at the Visitor Center, you not only could buy Apple’s devices there, but you could also purchase a variety of merchandise that you just wouldn’t find elsewhere. This includes Apple-branded tees, memory cards, postcards, water bottles, and other daily essentials. If you would like something to eat or drink, you could even grab a pastry or coffee at the on-site Caffè Macs, where baristas could whip you up a sweet surprise.
All in all, the Apple Park Visitor Center would be my top recommendation for you to visit if you’re in Apple.
