Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced that it is encouraging its employees to not come into work this week at Apple Park and that for this week, they should be working remotely. The memo that Cook sent told employees to work from home “if your job allows it.”

Cook has said that the coronavirus illness is both an “unprecedented event” and a “challenging moment.”

This is not just for employees at Apple Park, but employees across the globe. Apple’s policy for this has gone outside of the United States now and is now goes for South Korea, Italy, Japan, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Employees at Apple at the corporate will still be receiving the same pay level even while doing their work from home.

The company is also taking other measures to diminish the spread of coronavirus. 9to5Mac has reported the following:

“Apple is also rolling out managerial changes to reduce human density in order to best prevent the spread of coronavirus at its retail stores and for employees who still have to come in due to the demands of their work.

This includes reducing the number of people in Apple retail stores; the company is temporarily reducing availability of places at Today at Apple session and lowering Genius Bar occupancy.”

We still do not know what Apple is going to do for its rumored March 2020 event. It is unclear if they will still hold an even this month due to coronavirus and them not wanting to be a reason for the spreading of it.

On top of that, it is unknown if Apple will end up canceling WWDC 2020. We will likely not know about this until this spring and see if the spread of coronavirus gets any worse and if there are more casualties from it too.
