There has been a lot of Apple Pay news this month, whether it was about JCPenney and Kohl’s getting rid of it its websites, or FYE getting it on its website.
The good news is that Family Dollar, the popular American dollar store chain, has re-added support for Apple Pay in its stores.
It should also be noted that Family Dollar’s parent company, Dollar Tree, also recently added Apple Pay to its stores this month. Just last weekend, I spotted that the company had updated its card readers at its Le Mars, IA store.
Great to see that @DollarTree in @LeMarsIowa officiallt accepts  Pay in its stores!
I reported this a few weeks ago for @appleosophy and it’s always cool to see these changes happen in-person. #ApplePay #DollarTree pic.twitter.com/cb2fL4p3JT

Users on Reddit noticed that it had been removed in select stores, with the idea that it was going to happen to all the company’s stores nationwide. Now it looks like that is not going to be the case.
Family Dollar has signs posted in its stores that encourage tap-to-pay and usage of mobile payment methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
What makes this even more important is that Family Dollar has EMV contactless now, meaning that when you tap your iPhone or Apple Watch to the card reader, there is no need to enter your pin number when using a debit card.
