The Apple Watch Series 6 is rumoured to be able to take blood-oxygen readings, according to an unconfirmed report. The current COVID-19 pandemic makes this feature more urgent and might see Apple adding this to the upcoming Apple Watch Series 6.
A post on twitter from Nikias Molina states the Apple Watch will feature a pulse oximeter. This measures the amount of oxygen carried by red blood cells. The COVID-19 pandemic brought sudden attention to this feature making it as well a feature we might see.
Nikias Molina wasn’t the first to claim inside information on these features. In March 9to5Mac supposidly found a reference to blood oxygen readings buried in iOS 14 which is expected to debut in Autumn the same time as the Apple Watch Series 6.
Nikias Molina also mentioned other features that are rumoured to be in the new Apple Watch:
Sleep Tracking
Longer Battery Life
Pulse Oximeter
S6 Chip
Mental Health Abnormalities Detection
