A popular gas station chain in South Carolina, Spinx Co., is jumping on the contactless bandwagon and has started accepting Apple Pay at its locations.
The company announced Tuesday on Twitter it has begun to accept Apple Pay and other contactless payment methods such as Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

Customers will also be allowed to use contactless on their credit or debit cards if their cards have the contactless and NFC chip embedded in them.
What makes this a little more interesting is that Apple has already added Spinx gas stations on Apple Maps to show that the stores do accept Apple Pay in them.
It does not appear as though Spinx has NFC readers at its pumps, so customers will have to go inside to pay for their gas if they plan on using Apple Pay or another contactless payment method to do so.
The Spinx iOS app does not accept Apple Pay at this time either, but it is something the company could look to add in the months ahead.
For now, it would appear as though the only way to use Apple Pay will be through its 80+Â stores in South Carolina.
