A strange bug which affected the proper working of USB 2.0 accessories in 2020 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air is now fixed with macOS Catalina 10.15.6

The bug was first reported a few months back when users with 2020 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air was unable to use their USB 2.0 accessories properly. Issues included crashing, freezes, complete failure etc. The most annoying thing was none of the hard or soft resets helped to solve the issue.

Considering this issue Apple released macOS Catalina 10.15.6 with release note stating ”resolves an issue where certain USB mouse and trackpads may lose connection”. Reports are showing that users who were facing this issue has confirmed that the problem is now solved with the update.

Even though in the release notes Apple pointed only mouse and trackpads, the problem affected so many other USB 2.0 devices and accessories to malfunction. With the latest update, all those issues are now solved.

While Apple still keeps on improving and updating macOS Catalina, we can be sure without a doubt that the upcoming macOS Big Sur will be the most advanced desktop operating system in the world.
