Apple today has announced a worldwide iPhone 11 display module replacement program, free for any affected iPhone 11, following a deluge of reports of unresponsive touch layers on various iPhone 11 units.Â
In a support document, Apple states that it “has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 11 displays” manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020 had defective touch layers that may cause said displays to be unresponsive to touch.
Apple has also offered a serial number checker for existing iPhone 11 users to check if their device is eligible for a free repair. Users who have paid for a prior repair for an iPhone that is eligible for this program is directed by Apple to request a refund.Â
If users believe that they have an affected iPhone 11 unit, Apple encourages said user to consult the program landing page on the Apple Support website.
