It was announced recently that Philo would be increasing its price from $20 a month to $25 a month.
This is not the first time in the past year that live TV streaming services have increased their prices. In 2020 alone, we saw YouTube TV, fuboTV and Hulu with Live TV increase their prices to $65 a month.
However, the new $25 price for Philo doesn’t start until Tuesday, June 8, and with that, those who are still looking to subscribe to the live TV streaming service for $20 a month are able to do so until that Tuesday start date.
More importantly, Philo is one of the few live TV streaming services that can be subscribed to through Apple via in-app purchases.
If you are interested in subscribing to Philo for $20 a month and do it through Apple (technically $19.99 a month), be sure to do it within the next couple of days because if you don’t, that price will go to $25 a month.
Along with the $20 a month price tag, you will also get a 30-day DVR, which is good when you’re wanting to stream shows like “The Office” on Comedy Central, “Spongebob Squarepants” on Nickelodeon or movies on Hallmark Channel.
However, those who do end up subscribing to the $25 a month price tag will get a year-long DVR instead of the 30-day one offered to $20 a month subscribers.
Philo currently has over 60 channels and can get other add-ons like EPIX for an additional $6 a month and Starz for an added $9 a month. It is available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
