The newest iteration in the iPad mini is finally here. After years of the same design with practically no changes, the biggest redesign to the iPad mini was unveiled today at Apple’s September 2021 Event. Starting at $499 USD, it is the cheapest way to get into Apple’s new design trend, as well as some of the new features that have been introduced with this iteration.
Featuring a sleek, sophisticated design reminiscent of the new Apple design language introduced in 2018, the new iPad mini features squared-off edges, as well as a completely flat front and back, as well as a discrete integration of Face ID, embedded on the power button. Â It comes in four new, exciting colors: purple, space gray, pink, and the newly introduced starlight.
But the redesign is not the only change coming to the iPad mini. The powerful A15 Bionic is included as the device’s processor. With a 6-core CPU and a 5-core GPU, the performance of this new iPad is unmatched by the rest of the lineup. The A15 Bionic can handle even the most demanding tasks, from editing 4K video to powering graphically intense games and offering Apple’s advanced Machine Learning technology in their smallest tablet.
Speed is one of the main points of focus with this revised model. Apple has included both USB-C and 5G for the first time in the iPad mini. This gives users the chance to transfer and connect their devices and get the fastest transfer speeds, whether they use a cable or not. Paired up with the A15 Bionic, users can now use external storage, monitors, and a plethora of accessories compatible with the USB-C standard.
Paired up with iOS 15, the power of the iPad mini is near limitless. Seamless multitasking and other features based on Machine Learning are now available for consumers in Apple’s pocket-size tablet. Focus and the Home Screen Widgets make it easier for you to get work done, no matter where you are.
And finally, the iPad mini is now compatible with the Second Generation Apple Pencil. It magnetically attaches to the side of the tablet, making it easier than ever to use whenever inspiration strikes. Paired up with the new Smart Folio cases, you can now protect your iPad and keep it fashionable while showing one of the new finishes.
This is exciting news. And even though this new model doesn’t support any type of official Apple keyboards, it still seems like an interesting productivity machine. It gives users the chance to bring their demanding tasks in a smaller package, making it easier than ever to get some work done while you are outside.
