Happy Father’s Day today to all of the great fathers in the U.S. and around the world who make the sacrifices and help pave the way for their kids and families.
However, with the television and TV shows, we feel as though we should also do our part to highlight the great examples of TV dads too.
Here is our list that shows off our top five favorite TV dads:
- Mike Baxter (“Last Man Standing”): Even though some might consider him to be too old-fashioned when it comes to being a parent, he is truly one of the best TV dads to watch when it comes to being there for his family and kids, as well as being a joking type of father. All nine seasons of “Last Man Standing” are on Hulu. Baxter was played by actor Tim Allen.
- Phil Dunphy (“Modern Family”): He is definitely a unique father that stands out from the crowd. However, over the course of 12 seasons of “Modern Family,” he shows how much he cares about his wife, kids, and entire family throughout the course of the series. He is played by Ty Burrell and the series can be streamed on both Hulu and Peacock.
- Ted Mosby (“How I Met Your Mother”): People seem to forget that while the entirety of the series is being played out on-screen, he is telling his two kids about how he met their mother. Needless to say, his kids end up knowing the full story and then some. All nine seasons of this character starring Josh Radnor can be streamed on Hulu.
- Frank Reynolds (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”): Ok, so Frank isn’t exactly a great model for a father, but he does help both his kids, Dennis and Dee, throughout the show, as well as pretty much fund the gangs “projects,” if you want to call them that. He has also been seen as a father figure to Charlie in the show too. Danny DeVito plays the iconic character and the series can be streamed on Hulu.
- Homer Simpson (“The Simpsons”) and Peter Griffin (“Family Guy”): We could not decide which one to not include, so why not include both. For those who love animated TV shows, these two are as iconic as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They are both the same and different simultaneously. “The Simpsons” can be streamed on Disney+ and “Family Guy” can be seen on Hulu.
