A new feature that has been discovered in the iOS 16 betas is the ability to use services like Apple Pay in other browsers.

MacRumors contributor Steve Moser highlighted this feature in a recent tweet that shows support for Apple Pay when using alternative browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Before iOS 16, Apple Pay support has exclusively only been available when using Apple’s Safari browser.

The tweet above shows Moser attempting to make a purchase online using Apple Pay as a payment method, and being given the option to “Continue with Apple Pay.”

The Verge has additionally reported that this new feature may be available on the Mozilla Firefox browser too.

At this time, it does not appear as though the feature is currently available on macOS, as the user must still be using Safari on their Mac in order to pay with Apple Pay.

This could be due to the fact that all three browsers are not currently available to download in the Mac App Store, whereas on iOS and iPadOS, they can be downloaded in the App Store and run Safari’s rendering engine and WebKit due to Apple’s standards.
