With Apple Watch Series 8 pre-orders starting to arrive to customers, those who like the look of the Nike Apple Watch face will no longer have to buy a Nike Apple Watch as Apple will allow any Apple Watch to use the Nike-branded faces in watchOS 9.
Announced during the ‘Far Out’ event earlier this month, Apple will now allow any Apple Watch running watchOS 9 to use a Nike watch face. The collection includes Analogue, Bounce, Compact, Digital, and Hybrid styles.
As long as your Apple Watch is supported by watchOS 9, you’ll be able to use a Nike watch face to go along with your Nike-branded Apple Watch band. Supported devices include Apple Watch Series 4, Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch Series 8, and Apple Watch Ultra.
It’s worth noting that there’s no longer a standalone Apple Watch Nike Edition this year. Customers interested in purchasing an Apple Watch with a Nike-branded Sport Loop or Sport Band have to do so online, or some stores may carry a model bundled with a Nike band. With Apple Watch Studio, customers can configure their Apple Watches with any of the Nike bands, now including stainless steel cases.
Alongside the Series 8, Apple also announced new Nike-branded Sport Loop and Sport Band colors. The Sport Loop now features the famous “Just Do It” Nike slogan stitched into the fabric. Both the Nike Sport Loop and Nike Sport Band are available to purchase separately at $49.
