Due to recent reports pin-pointed by MacRumors, the HomePod mini may launch in Scandinavia. Recent software analysis has proved that the HomePod software now has support for most Scandinavian languages; Swedish, Finnish, and Norwegian. Another report from earlier this year noted that Danish support is currently in development at Apple.
This comes after the HomePod mini was released in October 2020. Back then it launched in 20 countries and regions which notably left out the Scandinavian countries. Potential buyers in Scandinavia have resorted to importing the smart speaker from other European countries. Mostly Germany, the UK, and the Netherlands. It seems that Apple is trying to combat directly with Google’s Nest Home speaker. It was released in Scandinavia nearly 4 years ago, back in 2018.
There have also been job listings appearing recently for Machine Learning Analysts for Siri in Scandinavia. This proves Apple’s willingness to improve Siri overseas, extending the reach of its products.
It seems Scandinavian Apple fans will finally be able to buy the device, but when can they expect it? Following past trends, it seems likely that Apple may launch a new colorwave for the HomePod mini at the next Apple Keynote. Mark Gurman reported earlier that a new updated model is in development.
