Apple has started rolling out the seventh developer betas of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 with important bug fixes, according to Apple’s Developer Webpage. These updates come one week after the release of iOS 17 & iPadOS 17 beta 6. We can expect the fifth Public Beta for these versions to be released within the next 24 Hours.

As the next Apple event is expected to take place in less than a month, Apple has shifted to a weekly release schedule for the betas from a bi-weekly one to prepare and polish the software for the final launch.

iOS 17 brings in a ton of new features and changes including a new Live Voicemail Feature, personalized Contact Posters, NameDrop Interactive Widgets, Standby Mode, precise search filters, and more. On the other hand, iPadOS 17 includes a new Lock Screen, a new PDF Experience, Health App, and more.

The build number of these updates is 21A5319a and you can expect the size of the update to be around 450MB – 700MB on your iPhone & iPad. The size of the update depends upon the device that you have and the software version you’re updating from. The letter ‘a’ at the end of the build number signifies that this could be one of the last beta updates to iOS 17 & iPadOS 17 before the Release Candidate version. The Release Notes for these updates contain a list of several resolved issues, which is another sign of the software being close to the final release.

Users who are registered as a developer on www.developer.apple.com can opt-in to receive beta updates by going into Settings>General>Software Update>Beta Updates and selecting iOS 17 Developer Beta or iPadOS 17 Developer Beta. Do note that these versions are not stable and are meant for testing purposes.
Users can also sign up as a Public Beta Tester for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 on www.beta.apple.com to install the beta software.

Along with iOS 17 & iPadOS 17 Beta 7, Apple also released the seventh developer betas of tvOS 17 and watchOS 10. The final versions of these will be released to the public this fall, most likely in September. The sixth developer beta of macOS Sonoma was also released today, the final version of which is expected to be released in October.
