With the anticipated announcement of both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus for next year, we can expect a refreshed palette of colors for both of those models.
According to the Twitter leaker, Unknownz21, at least six different colors were tested for the upcoming phone through various development stages.
These are the colors that were tested on the base model iPhone 15, throughout different development stages:
– Pink / Rose Gold / Blush Gold
– Green
– Blue
– Yellow
– Orange (inconsistent mentions)
– Black / Midnight / Dark / BasaltWe should see at least some of these

Earlier this week, a few images have been posted on Twitter by @Kosutami that depict what seem to be color-matching USB-C cables that will complement the upcoming colorways. Apple has moved to braided cables, including the color-matching MagSafe 3 cables for both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, the charging cable for Apple Watch Ultra, and the USB-C cables that are included in both the iPad 10 and M2 iPad Pro. So, it won’t be a surprise if Apple will include braided USB-C cables for their iPhone 15 series in the midst of the transition to USB-C. What sets those cables apart from the rest of the USB-C cables that Apple offers is that those cables shown here contain strain relief tubes on both ends. Additionally, recent reports indicated that those cables could be 50% longer than the existing Lightning cables that ship with current iPhones.

It’ll be quite interesting whether Apple would include color-matching USB-C cables for any iPhone model for the first time.
Currently, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are offered in these colors:
- Starlight
- Midnight
- Blue
- Purple
- Yellow
- PRODUCT(RED)
Based on this week’s rumors, we can expect the standard iPhone 15 models to come in these colors:
- Midnight or Black
- Starlight or White
- Yellow
- Blue
- Orange or Coral
Most notably, the PRODUCT(RED) option is absent from Unknownz21’s report. Nowadays, Apple initially offers five colors when it introduces a new standard iPhone model. About six months later, it introduces a sixth color option to boost sales. For example, the yellow color was introduced earlier this year as the new color option for the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. Therefore, it’s possible that history will repeat itself by introducing the iPhone 15 without the PRODUCT(RED) option, and they’ll bring that color option the following spring, similar to what Apple did with both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8.
