The 2024 Summer Olympics are starting this week in Paris and the whole world’s attention will be on what goes on there over the next few weeks.
This year, NBCUniversal does hold the rights to broadcasting the 2024 Summer Olympics, as it has for many years now. Coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics will begin at 8 a.m. ET on Wednesday, July 24 and go until 5:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 11.
While some out there might be thinking the only way to stream the games live would be through live TV streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, fuboTV, or Sling TV, there is actually an alternative method that is much cheaper.
This method is through Peacock, the NBCUniversal-owned streaming service. It will be live streaming each live Olympic event this year, meaning that consumers will not need a live TV streaming service or traditional cable or satellite TV to watch all of the games live.
Another added benefit is Peacock has added Multiview so users can stream multiple different live Olympic sporting events at once on the same screen.
A message on the Peacock web page has stated that “all Olympic events will stream LIVE on Peacock, including Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and Peacock exclusive events. Plus, you’ll get Full Event Replays, 24/7 Olympics Channels, documentaries, and more.”
Best of all, it can all be done with Peacock’s ad-supported tier that costs just $7.99 a month. Peacock will be streaming the Olympics in 1080p HD quality this year too.
There are methods of streaming the 2024 Summer Olympics in 4K, but that would not be available through Peacock.
Peacock can be subscribed to through its website or through in-app purchases in the App Store. It is available to stream on the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac.
