The iPhone 16 lineup has been out for over four weeks, and we’ve been anticipating a significant hardware update for Apple’s lowest-end iPhone SE for a few years. Today, Macotakara, posted several new images of the iPhone SE 4 dummy units that corroborate many of the design details we’ve been expecting. As expected, the dummy units feature a design that’s based on that of the iPhone 14 with an all-screen design, a notch, and a mute switch instead of an Action Button. The dummy unit’s dimensions are 146.7mm x 71.5mm x 7.8mm, which match those of the iPhone 14. What will be different visually is that the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will have a single 48MP camera whereas the iPhone 14 has a dual-camera system.

What’s new is that the source declares that there will be an additional larger-size ‘Plus’ option as there are also dummy units for that model. However, this part of the report should be taken with a grain of salt, and it has been rumored that there will just be one size option for the iPhone SE 4. Additionally, because of how development and production stages work, new products that have never been long rumored generally won’t likely appear near the end of the development stage.

With that said, the iPhone SE 4 is going to be a significant upgrade we’ve seen in years for Apple’s low-end smartphone option, finally bringing several new features that the flagship iPhones have had for years. We can expect a 6.1-inch OLED display, an A18 chip with support for Apple Intelligence, a USB-C port, and a first for any Apple product, a custom in-house 5G model. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be announced early next year around spring.
