Here’s why another “Scary Fast” event may happen

As the end of October draws near, we’ve been anticipating the launch of the next generation of Macs with the M4 series of chips, and Mark Gurman indicates that those upcoming Macs are launching ‘very soon‘. So I’m starting to see that we will get another “Scary Fast” event as last year, and here’s why.

Last October, Apple introduced the Apple Pencil (USB-C) via a newsroom article on October 17, which is an iPad-related accessory. Then, on October 24, Apple sent out invites to make its “Scary Fast” event official for October 30. That was when Apple introduced the first Macs with the M3 series of chips – the MacBook Pro and the iMac.

Fast forward to this month, Apple introduced the iPad mini (A17 Pro) chip on October 15 via a press release. Apple wanted to announce that product earlier to entirely focus on the Mac lineup if Apple were to hold an event. So as you can see, history is starting to repeat itself. Therefore, I now see that we’ll have an official event announcement today at midday EDT where another “Scary Fast” event will happen this coming Monday (October 28). Theoretically, everything in Apple’s timeline will happen exactly 52 weeks apart:

  • 2023
    • October 17 – Apple introduced the Apple Pencil (USB-C)
    • October 24 – Apple sent out invites for its “Scary Fast” event
    • October 30 – Apple introduced the first Macs with the M3 series of chips
  • 2024 (my predictions)
    • October 15 – Apple introduced the iPad mini (A17 Pro)
    • October 22 – Apple will send out invites for another Mac-centric event as last October’s
    • October 28 – Apple will introduce the first Macs with the M4 series of chips.

Another Mac-focused event will certainly be in the cards as Apple will have a lot to showcase for its next generation of Macs:

  • M4 Pro and M4 Max,
  • 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4/M4 Pro/M4 Max,
  • 16-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Pro/M4 Max,
  • iMac with M4,
  • Magic accessories with USB-C,
  • and the star of the show will be the Mac mini, which will finally see its biggest redesign in over 14 years

There’s a lot to be excited about for Apple’s lineup of Macs, and with the rollout of Apple Intelligence on October 28, Apple will continue to promote its own AI features with its newest set of Macs at its upcoming event.

We’re just about one hour away from when Apple will usually announce another event, so until then, keep smashing that refresh button on either this site or Apple’s website.
