Apple officially announces brand new iPhone 16e

This morning, Apple has officially unveiled and announced its newest smartphone, the iPhone 16e.

The iPhone 16e is supposed to be a replacement for the iPhone SE third generation that was released back in 2022.

With this new iPhone 16e, the specs on it are impressive with an A18 chip and a 48MP 2-in-1 camera setup. On top of that, it also includes Apple Intelligence, “extraordinary battery life, a six-core CPU that is “up to 80 percent faster than the A13 Bionic chip on the iPhone 11.

It has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with OLED tech that has a full edge-to-edge display. However, it will still have the previous “notch” from the iPhone 14, with no Dynamic Island that came on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max in September 2022.

Best of all, the starting price is just $599. Pre-orders for it start on Friday, February 21, with the release date and availability of the new iPhone 16e being the following Friday, February 28.

What also makes this iPhone stand out is that it has the new Apple C1, which is Apple’s first ever cellular modem designed by the company. Other features include support for Emergency SOS. Roadside Assistance, Crash Detection, and Find My via satellite.

By Apple designing its own modem for the iPhone 16e, the first of its kind, the iPhone 16e will be able to support a more reliable 5G connection and be more power-efficient, in terms of the Apple-designed modem.

When it comes to the colors of this iPhone 16e, they come in black and white.

Battery life has been improved and said to last “six hours longer than the iPhone 11 and up to 12 hours longer than all generations of the iPhone SE.”

Just like the iPhone 15 and newer, the iPhone 16e does charge via USB-C.

For the first time ever, this type of iPhone gets Face ID and additionally makes it so that Apple is no longer selling any version of the iPhone with Touch ID on it, with the iPhone SE being officially discontinued today too.

The iPhone 16e’s camera can record in 4K with Dolby Vision in up to 60 fps. It also can record videos with Spatial Audio for better listening experiences on Apple accessories and devices like AirPods, Apple Vision Pro, and other surround sound systems.
