Today would have marked the 70th birthday of Steve Jobs, who was born on February 24, 1955. He co-founded Apple on April 1, 1976, and he was behind the development of the original Macintosh, which saw its debuted on January 24, 1984. He left Apple the year after and formed his own company called NeXT. It wasn’t until 1997 when he rejoined Apple and brought the company out of bankruptcy with the launch of the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad. He passed away on October 5, 2011, one day after the introduction of the iPhone 4S.
Steve Jobs’ legacy has continued to be honored in so many ways, including Apple’s CEO Tim Cook with his post on X from today:

Additionally, Jobs will be honored on next year’s dollar coin that will represent California, which is the home of both Apple and the Silicon Valley, as part of the American Innovation Dollar Coin Program. Earlier this week, the design candidates for the coin have been unveiled, so the final design is expected to be selected and announced by the end of this year with production starting sometime next year.
