Apple this week has updated it’s codebase which includes a numerical reference to an unreleased audio product, potentially hinting at the upcoming AirPods Pro 3, as reported by MacRumors. The new Bluetooth ID, “8239,” does not match any existing AirPods or Beats headphones. This discovery was made within Apple’s device syncing code, where a list of current audio devices was found alongside this new, unknown identifier.

While no specific details about the product are available other than its existence, its presence in the codebase aligns with rumors of a forthcoming AirPods Pro 3 expected later this year. The rumored AirPods Pro 3 could feature a refined design, enhanced audio quality, improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and possibly new health-related functions such as heart rate monitoring. However, it is also possible that this new identifier corresponds to an unannounced Beats product.
