If you’re planning to buy or upgrade to the next-generation AirPods Pro 3, there’s one tidbit you should keep in mind. The AirPods Pro 3 no longer includes a USB-C cable in the box. This probably shouldn’t come as a surprise since both models of AirPods 4 that was introduced last September also did not include a USB-C cable in the box. Therefore, it appears that the AirPods Pro 3 is following suit, and maybe the next AirPods Max would follow suit as well; however, I wouldn’t count on it since rumors claim that Apple has no plans to upgrade the AirPods Max anytime soon.

Chances are, you’ve already had so many USB-C cables that you got from many Apple devices and other accessories since USB-C has been widely adopted and thus has a significantly, large ecosystem. Therefore, Apple wouldn’t need to supply a USB-C cable for AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 3 since shipping accessories would cost Apple more money. By removing accessories, Apple could save money on both shipping, reduce overall volume of the shipping box, and pack in more units per cargo.

The great thing about AirPods Pro 3 is that there are so many ways to charge it beyond wired charging via USB-C. AirPods Pro 3 also supports MagSafe chargers, Qi-certified chargers, and even Apple Watch chargers.

You can order AirPods Pro 3 right now, and it will launch on Friday, September 19.
