Laptops are always convenient to bring to any place you can think of; after all, it’s your mobile office to go. However, because of how they are designed, where the display is below eye-level since it’s always attached to the palmrest, this could lead to poor posture and ergonomics. You could get a laptop stand to level up your laptop, but some of the good-quality ones are just too bulky to put in your backpack or briefcase. At the same time, you may want to keep your laptop protected against bumps or scratches. Believe it or not, Apple used to offer its own first-party leather sleeves for its MacBook lineup during the era of the Touch Bar MacBook Pro.

First of all, as the name implies, the Laptop Carry Sleeve allows you to easily slide your MacBook, or any other laptop, into the sleeve for full-on protection. Constructed using vegan leather and strong fiberglass, you’ll know that this accessory is made with quality materials that are super-durable. Secondly, the Laptop Carry Sleeve also acts as a stand. Thanks to its “origami” design, you can easily fold the Laptop Carry Sleeve at either 15 degrees or 25 degrees to conveniently prop up your laptop closer to eye level. If you look closely, this flap is there to keep your laptop from sliding when the sleeve is propped up, which I think is a very smart design decision. Last, but not least, the Laptop Carry Sleeve has a second pouch that lets you store other accessories such as chargers, cables, external drives – you name it. Best of all, the Laptop Carry Sleeve is so minimalistic that it wouldn’t add too much bulk to your knapsack, carry-on, or any other bags you can think of.
While I do appreciate the design and versatility this Laptop Carry Sleeve offers, there is one downside that I can think of. For one, although this laptop sleeve is made to be used on flat surfaces such as a desk when using it as a stand, it’s not really made for lapability. I tried to use this sleeve on my lap, but depending on how I position my legs, such as sitting on a sofa, the laptop’s weight could overcome the sleeve’s flap, which could lead to the laptop sliding on the sleeve. One improvement that I would love to see is to have some kind of pen, pencil, or perhaps, cable holder inside the sleeve’s inner pouch to keep smaller, looser items in place. All in all, I really love this accessory. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who’s thinking of what to get for their laptop, especially during the holiday season. Apple is offering this laptop sleeve at its online store in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes in both Black and White, and it retails for $64.95.
